Amentum is seeking a Network Support Technician to join our team and support our Washington, DC customer. We are looking for team members who are passionate about making a difference by working on critical efforts we manage as a premier government contractor.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, administer, and maintain telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure

  • Responsible for tasks assigned by project managers in connection with service orders and repair activities related to Category 6 cabling, Voice over IP networks (VOIP), and fiber optic cabling infrastructure

  • Install, maintain and repair voice and data communications systems

  • Test, locate, install, and repair cabling infrastructure to include cables and components associated with trouble calls, and perform routine maintenance which may include reading circuit diagrams and electrical schematics

  • Document network by labeling and routing equipment and cables; recording configuration diagrams and specifications

  • Identify, track and remove abandoned cable, and keep cable neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standards

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD degree in a related field, and at least 2 years of network support experience

    • Or a Master’s degree in a related field, and at least 4 years of network support experience

    • Or a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and at least 6 years of network support experience

    • Or an Associates degree in a related field, and at least 8 years of network support experience

    • Or a High school diploma/GED, at least 10 years of network support experience

  • Possess one of the following certifications:

    • DoD 8570 IAT II certification (which includes either a Security+, CCNA-Security, CySa+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, and/or SSCP certification)

    • DoD 8570 IAM II certification (which includes either a CAP, CASP+CE, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, CCISO, and/or HCISPP certification)

  • In-depth knowledge of Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) networks

  • Well-versed in the use of network cabling test equipment including network testers, copper cable testers, fiber Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDRs), and fiber power meters.

  • Able and willing to perform physical activities, such as climbing, bending, and other day-to-day activities using power tools and ladders

  • Must have an Active Top Secret US Government Clearance with SCI eligibility, and the ability to obtain a polygraph prior to your start. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) or Intelligence Community (IC) environment
