LABORATORY TECHNICIAN - SINAI HOSPITAL - #1334060

JOB SUMMARY: Under supervision, receives and processes patient's specimens (blood, urine, spinal and other fluids) for laboratory testing. Serves as the front line representative of the laboratory.

• Communicates effectively with members of patient care team and other hospital staff
• Receives and processes specimens sent to the laboratory and maintains appropriate records and documentation
• Thoroughly investigates and resolves test order and specimen discrepancies
• Develops effective working relationships with customers, co-workers and physicians
• Completes competency and performance improvement exercises and assists with training of new employees

REQUIREMENTS:

• Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills; High School Diploma; GED equivalent or High School Certificate.
• Less than 1 year of experience required - previous experience in laboratory setting is a plus
