ROLE SUMMARY The Platform: The Chief Medical Affairs Office’s RWE Partnerships and Platforms organization is responsible for establishing global RWE data and scientific leadership through the generation of integrated, end-to-end observational real-world evidence serving all therapeutic areas from proof of concept (POC) trials through LOE for priority pipeline candidates, pipeline supplementation through business development, and marketed inline products. It fully centralizes RWE, epidemiology, outcomes research, RW-relevant health informatics, digital platforms, partnerships, and biostatistics talent from global, international developed market (IDM) and emerging markets (EM) into one team to drive efficiency through internalized work ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES The RWE Partnerships and Platforms organization functions to:
  • Enhance Pfizer’s ability to determine unmet medical needs
  • Support differentiated product labels for Product Development programs including finding alternatives and accelerated licensure pathways for new indications through the use of Real World Data (RWD), Real World Insights (RWI) and Real World Evidence (RWE)
  • Inform clinical practice on appropriate prescription and use of Pfizer’s products in collaboration with Access & Value, strengthen the value evidence package for payers and access/policy decision-makers
  • Support measurement of short- and long-term impact of Pfizer’s products to both patients and populations
  • Support competitive differentiation
This position will serve as the Real World Data point of contact for either one category or one geographic region
  • Execute on prioritized tactical plans with actionable projects, identify external partners to deliver strategic RWE capabilities / data, and oversight of high-quality methods and designs to inform study / project designs for R&D franchise / asset teams, CMAO, Health Economics and Outcomes Research, Commercial and other functions’ needs
  • Provide daily mentorship, motivation, and guidance to more junior RWE colleagues, & direct them to co-develop emerging, core a strategic partnerships with commercial and academic data suppliers
  • Supports landscape assessments, new data / tool / partner due diligence assessments based on understanding evolving healthcare, technology and other industries with Customers, RWE Digital platform team, Digital RWD Enterprise Enabling Platform, RWE Biostatistics and other relevant partners
  • Documents all requests and track progress toward project completion, other metrics and business goals
  • Develops training materials for ensuring colleagues understanding and competency in various aspects of the RWE process
  • Communicates critical knowledge on business processes to relevant stakeholders
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 6+ (with a doctoral or similar degree) to 8+ (master degree), or 10+ (bachelor degree) years’ experience with a proven successful track record of program or scientific management for partnerships / alliances, collaborations, innovation initiatives or major strategic initiatives for pharmaceutical, biotech companies, academic, or any other organization engaged in health, clinical or life science research enablement or quality improvement
  • Demonstrated scientific and/or strategic support for non-interventional, other related observational studies, hybrid clinical trial designs leveraging real world data, or relevant care or technology activities, driving project progress and value
  • Experience and effectiveness communicating new and complicated scientific ideas to external and internal stakeholders
  • Innovation mindset, paired with the ability to prioritize tasks, identify the most relevant parameters driving a decision and to focus the work accordingly
  • Enthusiastic, curious, high-energy individual, team motivator, with outstanding communication, inter-personal and other “soft” skills Thrives in a rapidly evolving environment, with ability to lead in parallel strategic and tactical tasks
  • Strong analytical skills required to provide sound inputs into new partner product and financial evaluations
  • Experience working with matrixed teams from different countries and cultures
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Oncology experience preferred
  • Demonstrated track record in successful execution and management of strategic collaboration across business groups and therapeutic areas highly preferred
  • Understanding of other functions relevant to the position which may include: Research, Digital/IT, Pre-Clinical, Clinical, Commercial, and Regulatory
  • Experience with real world data partnerships, specifically within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience working with Digital/IT colleagues

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $161,600.00 to $269,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
