Job Summary:


In this role, you will report to the site Director of Operations, the HSE Manager will Identify, develop & implement health, safety and environmental programs and policies for the Phoenix facility to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and corporate standards.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Implement site specific programs and procedures, behavioral safety processes, corporate safety mandates, problem analysis/troubleshooting, and interpretation of applicable regulatory regulations.
  • Implement proactive Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) programs and processes with the goal of preventing occupational incidents in the workplace.
  • Supports site incident reporting process to ensures effective investigation, reporting, corrective actions, trends and best practice sharing throughout the business.
  • Implement and lead the risk assessment program including Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), FMEA, equipment assessments amongst other.
  • Manage the environmental related permit requirements including monthly recordkeeping and permit documentation.
  • Oversees and guide the site safety committee in establishing site safety goals and objectives.
  • Develop and update site specific HSE training needs, operational reviews and new equipment assessments.
  • Understand, implement, report and monitor HSE and regulatory compliance metrics.
  • Participate in the project turnover process regarding new equipment or plant processes updates or changes plants from the HSE perspective.
  • Develop and implement contractor safety guidelines.
  • Participates in other key HSE initiatives as assigned by the Director of Operations.
  • Manage onsite Security.
  • Investigate, analyze, identify and recommend controls for causes and/or potential causes of accidents, exposures to hazardous materials and ergonomic hazards.
  • Oversee the site safety committee & assist in establishing site safety goals & objectives.
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) on hazardous materials used in the workplace.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned based on business needs.
  • Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering or science related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience
  • 8+ years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have knowledge of OSHA, Federal, State and local safety laws and regulations.
  • Prior manufacturing experience in an industrial setting required.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal & problem-solving skills & be able to interface with employees in all

levels of the organization; must possess good organization, time-management, negotiating & conflict resolution skills; excellent computer skills (including MS Office experience using Word & Excel) required.


Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Experience in plastic injection molding industries
  • Experience with high-speed production and automated equipment
  • Masters on Occupational Safety, Environmental Science or science related field.

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal travel required.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Must be able to perform job duties as required with limited physical demands.
