This position is on the Deferred Revenue team and reports to the Accounting Manager, Deferred Revenue and Asset Management. At this position, you will have the opportunity to prepare journal entries for various accounts, perform variance analyses, perform accounting research, prepare balance sheet recons, participate in system implementation projects, and support monthly forecast and other ad-hoc projects.

An ideal candidate should be self-motivated as well as a good team player. They should be an eager and fast learner, very detail-oriented and be able to complete tasks assigned timely and with good accuracy. They should be able to work well in a fast-paced work environment with good stress management skills.

This position will be filled to work a Hybrid schedule at Jack Henry’s Springfield, MO office location or the following office locations will be considered: Monett, MO or Allen, TX. You must be able to come onsite to the Springfield, MO location 1 time a week for a team meeting. In addition, you are required to be at the Springfield, MO office when the hiring manager is onsite.

• Prepare accrual and reclass JEs as assigned for the Deferred Revenue team during a monthly close.
• Perform ASC 605 vs ASC 606 variance analyses on P&L for revenue types assigned, research causes of those variances, and prepare JEs or make adjustments to revenue contracts and invoices in our revenue recognition system (RevPro, a Zuora-based system) to clear.
• Perform monthly forecast and annual budget tasks for the revenue types assigned.
• Perform actual vs forecast variance analyses for revenue types assigned, research causes of those variances and provide clear explanations.
• Perform BS reconciliations in Blackline for deferred revenue accounts, perform cross-period variance analyses and provide clear explanations.
• Build good working relationships with the other Deferred Revenue team members and people outside the team.
• Coach the other Deferred Revenue team members on your tasks when needed.
• Assist with projects assigned, including doing research, determining the best approach to resolution, and communicating results.
• Maintain detailed process documentation for your tasks and your managed areas.
• Identify inefficiencies in your tasks/workflows/processes/procedures, brainstorm and implement solutions to improve efficiency.
• Perform testing tasks assigned in system implementation projects, track testing results and provide feedback to the Manager.
• Perform other job duties, tasks and projects as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounting.
• Must have experience with commonly used Excel formulas and functions for accounting, such as vlookup/hlookup/xlookup, sumif/s, count/countifs, and pivot tables.
• Must be able to analyze a large volume of data (i.e., 50k rows in a single Excel file), extract the useful information and present it clear and understandable way.
• Must be able to work past 5pm CST during a monthly close, but Jack Jenry values work/life balance very much.
• Ability to travel up to 10% to attend Jack Henry meetings, training sessions and conferences.

• CPA
• Experience working in public accounting/financial statement audits.
• Solid understanding of chart of accounts, debits and credits (what account to debit and what account to credit to accurately record a business transaction).
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, especially ASC 606.
• Experience with reconciliations between General Ledger vs Subledger, JEs, month-end closes, BS reconciliations.
• Experience with variance analyses for BS (cross-period), P&L (actual vs forecast), or both.
• Experience with Blackline.
• Experience with Zuora, Salesforce or some other ASC 606 revenue recognition systems.
• Experience of working in accounting at a software company.
