Overview of Position

This is a .6 part time position. The annual salary will be prorated to reflect the part time FTE.

The responsibility of this position is to lead and oversee the coordinated implementation of district-wide supports within the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework, to reduce opportunity gaps. It will be incumbent for this role to work collaboratively with current departmental and divisional program models (MTSS, Race and Equity, Special Education, Coordinated School Health, community organizations and agencies, and School and Community Partnerships) to bring alignment and coherence in promoting equitable access to supportive services and removing barriers to academic success for all students.

Expected Start Date: July 1, 2024.

Essential Functions

  • Monitor the application of the District-wide Assessment Calendar

  • Develop and manage approved procedures and support documents linked with both central office and school-based MTSS

  • Manage the implementation of Homeroom (student data portal) for all SPS schools

  • Coordinate more intensive tiered supports to target schools

  • Provide PD to central office and school MTSS teams

  • Team with Teaching and Learning Leadership to create and implement a common platform for Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)

  • Manage staff, including supervising and evaluating professional and support staff
  • Monitor staff performance and evaluate work
  • Consult with subordinates on a variety of problems and issues
  • Establish clear performance expectations, and evaluate based on results
  • Hold all employees to high expectations, and provide support in meeting those expectations
  • Create opportunities for staff enrichment, motivate staff to participate in them
  • Identify potential in staff and assumes a role in developing it

Typical Qualifications

EDUCATION:
Master's in Education or related field Master's degree in education, business or public administration, political science, or a closely related field.

YEARS of RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
Five (5) years of experience in a large public agency, including grants management and governmental relations responsibilities. Experience with the development and submission of federal grant applications; experience with state funding and programs run through the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.

SUBSTITUTION:
B. A. Degree and two additional years of qualifying experience may substitute for the Master's Degree.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSES:
Valid Washington State driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility.

CLEARANCES:
Criminal Justice fingerprint and background check

Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work will be considered.
