The Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure (RFSI) Grant Program is currently recruiting for one Administrative Specialist 2 position What you’ll be doing
  • As the Administrative Specialist 2 (Resilient Food Systems Grant Program Support) you will primarily respond to telephone and email; monitor and/or audit a program or operation; and perform administrative research, analysis, and evaluation for projects or studies related to a program area. Also assist with other office tasks
  • As the Administrative Specialist 2 Resilient Food Systems Grant Program Support you will assist the Program Coordinator with planning, managing, and developing the program including but not limited to outreach and financial administration of a subgrant program pursuant to guidelines and rules compliant with USDA grant regulations, and reports on compliance of sub-grantees
The Administrative Specialist 2 (Resilient Food Systems Grant Program Support Program Assistant) is a full-time limited duration position expected to last through May 30, 2027. This position may be extended contingent upon funding.   • Three years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis; OR
  • An associate degree in general office occupations and two years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience
What we are looking for (Desired Attributes):
  • Experience and proficiency with computer desktop applications, including Microsoft software
  • Proficient proofreading, editing, typing and compilation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to meet deadlines while producing accurate work
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a diversity of audiences
  • Experience with complex program administration (grant or other programs)
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others
  • Foundation in watershed restoration concepts and practices and/or knowledge of ecosystem processes
Additional Requirements The candidate selected for this position will be responsible for entering licensing data into the computer in a timely manner and ensuring the accuracy of entries. It is essential this position have extensive knowledge of the computer data base and applied codes. This position is responsible for maintaining, storing, archiving, and purging paper records in accordance with the Oregon State Archives retention schedule and policies, and ensures files are maintained for retrieval.
