South Dakota State University’s College of Nursing (CON) is currently seeking a Program Assistant I to join our Rapid City, South Dakota team. Job Responsibilities: Serves as a Program Assistant to Nursing Student Services and the Native American Nursing Education Center (NANEC) in Rapid City while collaborating with Nursing Student Services staff on four campuses and multiple programs. Assists the Rapid City Nursing Student Services/NANEC staff. Provides assistance and facilitates communication to undergraduate students as they progress through the program and maintains computerized database and departmental files. Ensures the efficient operation of the SDSU Rapid City Nursing Student Services/NANEC so that the office’s maximum positive impact on each SDSU pre-nursing and nursing student is realized. Collaborates in managing events, producing awards, student applications to the major, student progression, student graduation and licensing procedures and other aspects of the Nursing Student Services workflow.

Knowledge of:
- Computer software and systems (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel).
- University CON processes and procedures or ability to learn.
- Database management.
- Event coordination.
- Customer service practices.
Skill & Ability to:
- Demonstrated strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Prioritize work to meet competing deadlines.
- Ability and desire to find information not readily available.
- Analyze and create reports from various sources of information.
- Make independent decisions using critical thinking and problem solving.
- Develop effective relationships with internal and external customers.
