Periodontology GTA/Resident - #1337293

The Ohio State University College of Dentistry seeks a Graduate Student for its Graduate Teaching Associate (GTA) in the Advanced Education program in Periodontics.

The Graduate Teaching Associate (GTA) in Periodontics is a part-time position intended to provide an expanded knowledge base in periodontics and provide clinical care experience as part of the dental school graduate program. Clinical training in the periodontics program focuses on the diagnosis and therapy of diseases and conditions affecting the tooth-supporting tissues, and on implant and implant-related surgery. GTAs oversee dental students in their technique training/development in preclinical courses and laboratory exercises and in the care of patients in the graduate periodontology and pre-doctoral clinics. They also participate in division activities such as lectures, journal clubs, and presentations at professional meetings, and participate in division associated research projects. All GTAs at the College of Dentistry are expected to: provide the highest possible level of service to patients/clients/students, promote teamwork and cooperative effort among each other and staff and faculty, maintain safe clinical practices, and abide by the college’s policies and procedures.

Required: D.D.S. or D.M.D.; graduation from an accredited U.S. or Canadian dental school and eligible for post-graduate approved training; required to be eligible to obtain a training certificate, required to be American Heart Association certified in ACLS training. Acceptance to The Graduate School at The Ohio State University and a confirmed resident by the Periodontics Residency/Dentistry MS program. Must obtain an Ohio Dental License or Limited Resident’s License with the Ohio State Dental Board.

This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.
