This position is 40 hours per week, working Monday through Friday from 800am-430pm in the Outpatient Clinics.

• Serves as a receptionist for the Outpatient Department (OPD).
• Has great customer service skills.
• Demonstrates cultural competence.
• Triages incoming calls and relays the information to the appropriate person.
• Assists in providing patients and families with needed scheduling information and Institute directions.
• Prints specimen labels (computerized and addressograph).
• Prepares and maintains outpatient packets specific to each medical clinic.
• Obtains patient charts from Health Information Management (HIM) as needed.
• Inventories and orders stationery for the OPD.
• Maintains Nurses Station area in a neat, clean, and organized fashion.
• Stamps all necessary outpatient paperwork with patient’s plate.
• Copies and posts clinic schedules in OPD and updates daily clinic schedule as changes occur.
• Drafts memos, policies and procedures, staff meeting minutes, and other communications for the OPD.
• Xeroxes needed reports, charts, and pertinent information as requested by the OPD nursing staff or physicians.
  
  
  

Education High School Diploma or GED required

Experience Three years’ experience as a receptionist/secretary, preferably in a medical setting, required.
