Position Summary

The Maintenance and Operations (M&O) team with Planning and Public Works (PPW) has large amounts of information waiting to be mined. You will provide reports and data analysis using MS SQL, Transact SQL, MS SQL Server Management Studio, MS Visual Studio and MS SSRS Reporting Services. Your reports will allow managers to better optimize decisions that will shape future improvements and projects that have a positive impact on the Pierce County communities.

How to be Successful in the Role:

Your positive customer service and attitude will be utilized as you communicate within the division and across other divisions in PPW. Many will be making important decisions based on the data provided, so accuracy is vital.

Core Daily Responsibilities

  • Duties will include eliciting and documenting report requirements, developing SQL queries, designing reports, and facilitating testing and troubleshooting with report end users.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in MS SQL databases, SQL Reporting Services, and query writing is required.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI.
  • Knowledge of GIS spatial systems and data formats.
  • An associate degree in data systems management, data analytics, business analysis, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience in Extract, Transform, and Load (E.T.L.) processes and tools.

Compensation is $32.95 per hour.
