Purchasing Manager - Aerospace and High Value Metals (Stainless Steel, Nickle Alloys, Aluminium and Titanium) and Value-Added Services

Based: North or Midlands

Area Covered: Global

Package: £40,000-£50,000 salary, Strong Bonus, Pension

Following a recent restructure within the business, our client is looking to recruit a Purchasing Manager - Aerospace and High Value Metals (Stainless Steel, Nickle Alloys, Aluminium and Titanium) and Value-Added Services.

The ideal candidate will have strong Purchasing, Procurement or Buying experience in either Aerospace and High Value Metals Distribution, Aerospace and High Value Metals Manufacturing. Alternatively, they may consider applicants with experience in similar products such as Forgings, Castings, Components or Other Types of Metals or they are also open to applicants who have experience of working for an Aerospace OEM or Company in a Purchasing related role or you will simply have a strong understanding of the Supply Chain Process overall, are extremely organised, can plan ahead and are particularly strong at putting numbers together.

The most Important part of this role however is going out and developing new supplier relationships, building on the existing relationships that are already established, demonstrating good communication skills and a real attention to detail. There also needs to be an early emphasis on going out and visiting key suppliers, to give them some real focus and attention not to mention you will liaise with the contracts team internally and will have a lot of interaction with the sales team in terms of requirements etc.

You will be an ambitious and forward-thinking individual who thrives on a challenge.

You will possess strong Purchasing, Procurement or Buying experience in Aerospace and High Value Metals Distribution, Aerospace and High Value Metals Manufacturing, similar products such as Forgings, Castings, Components or Other Types of Metals or of working for an Aerospace OEM or Company on the Purchasing side of the business. Lastly, you will bring a strong understanding of the Supply Chain Process overall, are extremely organised, can plan ahead and are particularly strong at putting numbers together.

They require a candidate who leads from the front, presents well and is confident dealing with suppliers. They also need someone who has good mentoring skills, good communication skills, is good with people and is used to dealing with different personalities. Also though, they are looking for someone who can work closely with the team and is very strong when it comes to analysing data as they are very much focussed on making sure that the order book is delivered and that the raw material will be in place, so future projects are taken into consideration. They will look for someone who is forward thinking, can think outside the box and can challenge what has been done before.
