This is a hybrid role and can be based in Metairie or Baton Rouge, LA.

Position Summary

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our financial operations. This position involves critical responsibilities such as general ledger reconciliations, analyzing accounting data, and aiding in the monthly financial statement preparations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversees billings process, including setup, preparation and adjustments to automated billings.
• Processes change orders and perform analysis as needed.
• Reconciles accounts receivable to the general ledger on a monthly basis.
• Analyzes accounts receivable aging report monthly.
• Prepares general ledger journal entries as required.
• Assists with monthly financial statement close process.
• Enhances accounting controls by recommending policies and procedures.
• Communicates effectively and professionally with all levels of staff.
  
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2-5 years of accounting experience in medium to large-sized organizations or public accounting firm experience. Experience in Big 4 or regional/local public accounting firms is a plus!
• Experience with AP, AR, general ledger, reconciliations. Experience with ASC-606 is a plus!
• Candidates with a current CPA or sitting in for exam are preferred.
• Experience working with enterprise ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, JDE, etc.) are preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines. This is a fast-paced environment, so candidate will need to thrive in this setting.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• A keen eye for detail and commitment to high-quality work in a dynamic environment.
• Knowledgeable about industry standards and competitive landscape.
• Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously and stepping beyond traditional responsibilities when needed.
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in the construction industry or a similar contracting role is highly advantageous.
