National Science & Technology Business Development Director - #1338968

Clark & Enersen is one of the country’s fastest growing design firms, with specialized expertise in the science & technology (S&T) sector. Ranking as one of the top 25 S&T architecture/engineering firms in the U.S., Clark & Enersen provides planning, design, and commissioning services on laboratory, research, teaching, and discovery-focused projects across the nation, with many in higher education settings. We are seeking a National S&T Business Development Director to join our team to strengthen and expand our reach. The successful candidate will work directly with the firm’s leadership within its seller-doer model to jointly plan and execute business development initiatives and activities.

Location

This position is open to all locations. While the preference is in a location with one of our existing offices (Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, or Colorado), we are also open to fully-remote arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Work with S&T Planning Team to develop strategies and implementation plans for expanding the firm’s vibrant S&T practice across the country.
• Interface with firm’s leaders/seller-doers to plan and execute business development initiatives.
• Build relationships with prospective clients and industry partners to further market reach.
• Travel throughout the country as necessary for face-to-face visits with existing and prospective clients and partners.
• Engage in industry-related organizations for the purpose of networking with potential S&T clients.
• Attend relevant market sector conferences to network and promote the firm.
• Track RFQ/RFP release dates and identify opportunities through procurement and sourcing sites.
• Research and track capital improvement plans of targeted prospects, as well as legislative policy and design trends that impact S&T sector.
• Coordinate business development activities with other business development staff, marketing staff, and market sector leaders.
• Participate in bi-weekly firm-wide Business Development and Marketing Committee meetings to collaborate and share insight with other firm members.
  
  

Qualifications

• Strong business development experience, with preference given to S&T-related architecture/engineering/construction experience.
• Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience strategic mindset in business development activities.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, both internally and externally.
• Ability to travel.
• Broad understanding of the firm’s areas of expertise and services, especially in the S&T sector.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
