About Midlands Regional Center

Midlands Regional Center is a residential facility of the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs located in Columbia, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Provide transportation services to all consumers residences at Midlands Center. This includes to all programs and medical appointments in a safe, secure, and professional manner.

Report any case of accident, injury or damage of vehicles to the supervisor. Recognize mechanical faults and report to the supervisor.

Follows safety practices and correct any unsafe work practices on the job.

Maintain travel log and record all the areas traveled to and turn in the log every Friday by the end of the work day.

Complete other duties as assigned.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

Must have a High School Diploma or GED and a valid South Carolina Driver's License.

Experience in the operation or maintenance of heavy equipment, motorized vehicles or machinery that is directly related to the area of employment.

Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Preferred Qualifications

Must have a Valid SC Drivers License and the ability to operate a (15) fifteen passenger van.

Immunization: If this position requires the applicant to work directly with DDSN consumers, a (2) step PPD testing or QuantiFERON TB Gold testing must be completed prior to beginning employment. All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, Varicella and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.

State Disaster Plan: In accordance with the State's Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, DDSN employees may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.
