Job Summary: The Human Resources Generalist will play a pivotal role in our Team Development and Culture department, assisting in the administration and execution of various HR programs. Essential Functions: Human Resources Administration

Serves as the department's point of contact for the management of HRIS. Further, takes the lead on HRIS servicing and feature implementation.

Assists with the administration of the organization's 401(k) plan; participates in 401K Advisory committee; participates in annual Plan audit and provides documentation for the filing of form 5500.

Consults with third party benefit brokers to manage and analyze benefit programs.

Coordinates benefit administration to include providing claim resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating information to employees.

Assists with Workers Compensation administration and processing all recordable incidents.

Prepares and maintains the team's SharePoint site, policies, and procedures.

Acts as counsel to management and employees.

Insures the consistent application of policies and procedures and fair treatment of all staff.

Participates in developing departmental goals, objectives, budgets, and systems. Culture

Active member of the People Team committee, focusing on internal culture and planning staff socials.

Active participation in diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.

Provides institutional training and development initiatives.

Be a go-to resource for employee inquiries, concerns, and grievances, promoting a harmonious work environment. Recruitment and Onboarding

Primary point of contact for applicant tracking system; trains hiring managers on its use.

Conducts recruitment and onboarding efforts for staff.

Assists with new employee orientation.

Updates Job Descriptions, As Necessary. Training And Staff Development

Serves as the organization's administrator of the Learning Management System.

Coordinate training initiatives, supporting employee growth and career development. Compliance and Risk Management

Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Assists in upholding safety-related protocols. Reporting

Responsible for regular Human Capital reports to senior leadership.

Performs compliance-based reporting.

Gathers and analyzes data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates.

Conducts regular audits for compensation and benefits. Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Supports the mission by participating in Aquarium sponsored programs and events on a regular basis.

Adhere to the South Carolina Aquarium Policies and Procedures.

Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars at the request of the Director.

Performs other related duties as required and assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resource administration.

Exceptional listening skills.

Possess a sharp attention to detail.

Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Experience With Diversity And Inclusion Planning Is Preferred.

Knowledge of employment law.

Highly committed to excellence, honesty and productivity.

Proficient with MS Office Products and typical HRIS systems

Interpersonal and proactive problem-solving skills, including conflict resolution. Education and Experience:

BS degree in Management, Business Administration, or related field

Three (3) years of experience in the HR field.

PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred Physical and Working Requirements:

Occasional travel and late nights required.

100% normal office environment with average walking, standing, bending, stooping, crouching, sitting and computer and phone tasks required. Working Conditions:
