POSITION PURPOSE
The Director of Film and Media Programs is responsible for the overall management and administration of all aspects of OFA’s Film and Media studios and programs.

This position requires the employee to regularly stand, walk, sit, talk and hear. They must be capable of writing, using a computer keyboard, telephone and related office equipment. Ability to lift 15lbs.

Essential Functions
- Together with the Controller and Chief Programs Officer (CPO) develop program budget.
- Collaborate with Chief Programs Officer (CPO) on program designs, training schedules and grant applications.
- Provide program management for clients on assigned caseload. This includes continuously evaluating client needs, providing parent education, and problem solving to help each client reach his or her potential.
- Ensure programs maintain adequate participant/staff ratio.
- Ensure programmatic accuracy and maintenance of all documentation, reports and paperwork.
- Ensure all authorizations are current and in place before services are provided.
- Ensure attendance of clients to program.
- Ensure Program Data Management System is updated and contains accurate information.
- Ensure program operates within annual budget, meeting or exceeding budget goals.
- Ensure billing efficiency through maximization of authorized billable hours and milestones.
- Maintain or increase program revenues.
- Respond to all requests, questions and issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure program compliance with all policies, procedures and standards.
- Conduct and document spot checks and on-site visits.
- Communicate with referring agencies, including Regional Center, Department of Rehabilitation, and
- other referral sources as applicable and as needed.
- Ensure program adherence to all policies, procedures, and standards to ensure ongoing compliance with governing agencies, to include the Department of Developmental Services, the Department of Labor, CARF, Regional Center, Department of Rehabilitation, Source America/Ability One, and contracted partners.
- Participate in participant investigations, as needed.
- Plan, direct and implement marketing efforts for assigned region.
- Identify and engage in network-building activities (e.g. community and professional organizations).
- Recruit, review and process referrals to the program, as needed.
- Diffuse crises and provide crisis intervention, as necessary.
- Conduct safety drills with staff and participants, as needed.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with CPO to relay status of programs, projects, and any critical
- issues (personnel and programmatic).
- Complete all required trainings.
- Monitor equipment needs and purchases across all regions to ensure consistency and proper use of
- resources.
- Coordinate showcases, film premieres and screenings across all regions.
- Ensure attendance and student enrollment are maximized.
- Oversee PR and marketing of the film and media studios in each region.
- Coordinate plans for students to seek opportunities outside of their region.
- Build relationships with the film industry in each region and Los Angeles.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Hire, train, direct, develop, evaluate, supervise and mentor Area Managers and other direct reports.
- Ensure that management and assigned direct reports have clearly defined roles, duties and performance metrics for the consistent delivery of service throughout the organization.
- Ensure all direct reports complete required trainings. Maintain staff training records and required
- documentation.
- Prepare and submit personnel forms.
- Collect, audit and finalize expenses and mileage for direct reports.
- Monitor staff performance and report potential issues to the Human Resources Department.
- Hold staff accountable to their job description, job duties and attendance and performance tracking.
- Create and promote a collaborative team environment across all programs and departments.
- Conduct staff meetings on a regular basis.
- Knowledge of the IDD community, program designs, and Title 17 and 22 requirements.
- Ability to manage vertical lines of service, staff, and regions throughout the organization.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelors degree (in Human Services or related field Preferred)
- Masters Degree in Human Services or related field (Preferred)
- 10 or more years’ experience supervising staff and managing programs and services for adults with disabilities.
- Experience managing programs and services for adults with disabilities, with emphasis on supporting individuals with significant behavioral support needs.
- Experience with instruction in critical life need areas, with emphasis on Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports.
- Must have and maintain valid drivers’ license, acceptable driving record, and ability to travel within and throughout region where services are provided.
- Must complete and pass background check.
