Overview

We are looking for a creative and driven Part-Time Instructional Designer to join our Human Resources team to help shape engaging learning experiences that empower our workforce.

This position will be responsible for designing and developing engaging learning solutions that support leadership development, employee growth, and onboarding programs across CBC’s diverse divisions. This role will collaborate with stakeholders to assess learning needs, create both eLearning and instructor-led content, and manage key LMS administration tasks. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of creativity, technical skills, and project management expertise to design impactful learning experiences that align with CBC’s commitment to excellence and innovation.

  • Design, develop, and build engaging eLearning training modules, microlearning assets, and video content to support on-demand learning.
  • Create instructor-led training (ILT) materials, including facilitator guides, participant workbooks, and presentations.
  • Edit and update existing training content to ensure accuracy and relevancy.
  • Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders across divisions to develop customized learning materials.
  • Conduct learning needs assessments to identify performance gaps and recommend targeted learning solutions.
  • Collaborate in planning and roadmapping learning initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
  • Manage LMS administration tasks, including course uploads, user enrollment, reporting, and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor and evaluate course effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and occasionally deliver in-person training sessions to support leadership and employee development programs.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Required Education And Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of instructional design experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Proficiency in Articulate Storyline and other eLearning authoring tools.
  • Experience with Litmos or similar LMS platforms, including admin-level tasks.
  • Strong instructional design and adult learning theory knowledge (ADDIE, SAM, etc.).

Preferred Education And Experience

  • Background in developing leadership and employee development training is preferred.
  • Experience creating microlearning and video content.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Attention to detail and a creative approach to designing engaging learning experiences.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional standing, walking, or light lifting (up to 15 lbs) may be required for setting up training sessions or video recordings.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment, including a computer, keyboard, mouse, and audiovisual tools.

Work Conditions

  • Primarily an office work environment with minimal physical strain.
  • Occasional travel to company locations for in-person meetings or training sessions.
  • Standard business hours with flexibility, but deadlines and project needs may require occasional extended hours.
  • Collaboration with various teams, requiring virtual or in-person meetings.
