Job Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for directing all aspects of casino, hotel, and restaurant accounting in accordance with company policy and Nevada state regulations. This role oversees the complete financial lifecycle and administrative operations for Max Casino, The Federal Hotel, and The Seven Grill Restaurant, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance across financial activities.
The Accounting Manager is responsible for the care, custody, and management of organizational funds, assets, records, and securities. This includes managing accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), reconciling financial accounts, overseeing tax preparation and filings, and maintaining compliance with local and state financial regulations.
This is a hands-on leadership role that also includes supervising accounting and compliance staff, enforcing internal controls, and working closely with executive management to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and asset management.

Accounting Operations
- Oversee and manage day-to-day financial functions including AP, AR, bank reconciliations, general ledger management, and asset tracking.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
- Monitor and reconcile financial accounts and reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Manage the preparation, submission, and payment of taxes, including payroll, sales, and gaming taxes, ensuring compliance with all deadlines.
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with financial and operational policies.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and reporting packages for ownership and management.
- Analyze financial data and create financial forecasts, budgets, and cash flow projections.
- Ensure accuracy in reporting and assist with external audits and regulatory reviews.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including requirements established by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
- Work closely with compliance personnel to support documentation and audit-readiness.
- Manage and maintain financial records in accordance with gaming, hospitality, and tax regulations.
- Supervise accounting team members and compliance personnel.
- Delegate tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching and development.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide training on financial policies and systems.
- Utilize QuickBooks and/or other accounting software for financial management and reporting.
- Oversee both front-end and back-end administrative operations related to accounting systems.
- Implement process improvements and software enhancements to increase efficiency.
- Standard office environment with occasional walking to and from casino, hotel, or restaurant areas as needed.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods and use a computer and office equipment.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally for records or supplies.
Education and Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 2–4 years of professional accounting experience required.
- 2+ years of supervisory or managerial experience in an accounting-related role.
- Experience working with QuickBooks preferred.
- Must have experience with front-end and back-end functions of accounting software.
- Prior experience in a hospitality or gaming environment is a strong plus.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- High attention to detail with a strong sense of accountability.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, multi-entity business environment.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Must be able to pass a drug test.
- Must obtain and maintain a Gaming Card issued by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
- Salary Range: $55,000 – $65,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
