Quickparts seeks a skilled Process Technician to set up and operate machines that shape plastic and other materials through injection molding. In this role, you'll work in our manufacturing facility preparing machines for production runs, ensuring quality output, and maintaining efficient operations. Key Responsibilities
- Technical Machine Operation
- Utilize numerically controlled injection molding equipment to perform operations on various plastic resin materials
- Set up and operate job-related equipment including molding machines, lift trucks, and overhead cranes
- Establish and follow set-up sheets and loading process parameters for optimal production
- Monitor process and cycle times to maintain quality and maximize product output
- Quality Control & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and correct problems in set-up and operations of molds, presses, and other equipment
- Identify when parts are produced improperly or when machines malfunction and alert supervision
- Operate precision measuring instruments to maintain accurate dimensional tolerances per specifications
- Maintain thorough knowledge of industry machinery, techniques, and safety regulations
- Production Support & Documentation
- Follow job specifications and design criteria, including verbal instructions for each order
- Maintain accurate production and scrap records for all processed materials
- Count, package, and label shipment boxes according to work instructions
- Use scales for counting parts and weighing boxes for shipment
- Maintain an organized and clean work area adhering to safety policies
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of related experience in injection molding set-up and processing
- Experience with plastic processing, system operation, and different plastic materials
- Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and other measurement tools
- Ability to operate overhead cranes and hi-lo equipment
- Skill in reading prints and technical specifications
- Basic math and computer skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of injection molding process validations and quality control
- Demonstrated mechanical and electrical knowledge with hands-on technical skills
