The Opportunity

The Memphis Grizzlies are looking for a dynamic professional to coordinate base building security staff in operating state-of-the-art CCTV, access control, visitor management systems, and emergency responder systems. You will help manage the base building security for the arena as well as assist with the event-related security. This position also requires the planning and execution of security training programs for full-time and part-time employees. The position requires collaborating with internal and external stakeholders including our guests, clients, operations, team operations, artists and show management, business executives, law enforcement agencies, and the NBA.

In This Role You Will

  • Support Base Building Security Manager in development and oversight of strategic safety plans with the objective of managing and mitigating risk for FedExForum and adjourning properties.
  • Assist in the supervision of a team of base building security staff including training, scheduling, and post assignments.
  • Help build and manage visitor management software focusing on daily guest to the facility.
  • Ensure strong collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders (e.g., IT, Senior Leadership, Human Resources, Risk Management and related law enforcement and government agencies).
  • Assist in implementing and managing security programs to ensure appropriate levels of security, safety, privacy, and recovery of company assets, loss prevention, commercial tenants, and patrons.
  • Keep up to date on latest security and privacy legislation, regulations, advisories, alerts, and vulnerabilities.
  • Assist the Base Building Security Manager in delivering reports detailing overall program compliance and program effectiveness.
  • Assist Security management in ongoing risk assessment programs targeting information security and privacy matters, recommend methods for vulnerability detection and remediation, and vulnerability testing.
  • Monitor the CCTV System for the properties.
  • Work with the Event Security team with venue credentialing.

The Experience You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a safety or security-related field (law enforcement, military, intelligence, private security organization, or a related field) with experience directly managing staff.
  • Experience implementing Emergency Evacuation Plans, Policies and Procedures.
  • Proven ability to think strategically with a willingness to execute successful projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an expert ability to present and communicate new ideas and concepts.
  • Must have a high degree of personal integrity and be willing to consistently put the interests of the organization first.
  • Strong ability to support creative ideation to enhance brand equity while supporting company culture, values, and objectives.
  • Skilled in leading, motivating and developing employees.
  • Must be adaptable with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Must be a strong communicator and cross-organizational collaborator.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), CCTV and access control systems.

Nice To Have

  • Knowledge of sports and entertainment, specifically NBA basketball.
  • Experience working in live entertainment venues is a plus.
