Your Purpose

We are proud to announce the establishment of MSC Cruises Technical Department USA, a key milestone in our continued growth. This new entity will provide marine and technical support to the MSC Cruises fleet within the USA region and will serve as a vital link to our MSC Cruise Management office in London. As Technical Manager, you will be responsible for supervising the Engine Operations of the MSC Cruises US-managed fleet. This will include operations such as maintenance of Ships machinery equipment, facilities and systems including Diesel Generators, boilers and other auxiliaries.

Your Impact

  • Oversees all machineries activities, including hotel technical, with particular focus on USCG and USPHS matters.
  • Carries out ship rides to clearly report the Ships’ condition status.
  • Highlights any critical points to the Ship’s Superintendent.
  • Reviews and updates the maintenance schedules, in agreement with Ship’s superintendent, based on Ship survey findings and results.
  • Ensures that reports and repair specifications are issued accurately and reflect the condition of the ships - and ensures that all repairs are completed to the required standard.
  • Monitors the on-board critical spare parts PAR levels and highlights any deficiency revealed during Ships’ surveys.

Your Journey so far

  • Experience sailing as 1st Engineer (or higher) on Cruise Ships
  • Existing shore-based experience in the Cruise industry is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of the English language is required, additional language skills are an advantage
  • MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Access, etc.);
  • Ability to effectively plan, organize, delegate and control the work process;
  • Broad general knowledge of shipping and environmental laws and regulations including class regulations (BV, RINA).
