As part of Munich Re Group, we are a unique organization providing expertise in specialty and marine lines of insurance as well as surety risks and customs bonds with in-house claims solutions.
We are seeking a full time Summer Intern – Data Analytics to join the Roanoke Insurance Group division in our Schaumburg, IL office reporting to the VP, Data and Analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
MRSG N.A. is the holding company for Roanoke Insurance Group (RIG) and Munich Re Specialty Group Insurance Services (SIS) located throughout 7 locations in the United States and Canada with over 250 employees.
SIS provides insurance to retail and wholesale insurance brokers in North America. Specialty lines include ocean and inland marine, cyber, tech E&O, terrorism, active assailant & political violence.
RIG operates as a specialty insurance broker focused on surety, insurance and related offerings for logistics service providers, customs brokers and companies with supply chains.

We are seeking a full time Summer Intern – Data Analytics to join the Roanoke Insurance Group division in our Schaumburg, IL office reporting to the VP, Data and Analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Collection and Preparation: Assist in gathering, cleaning, and preprocessing data from multiple sources to ensure data quality and integrity
- Data Analysis: Support the team in analyzing large datasets, identifying patterns, and generating actionable insights to inform business strategies
- Reporting and Visualization: Help create data visualizations (e.g., dashboards, charts, and graphs) to present findings clearly and effectively
- Database Quality Management: Contribute to managing and maintaining data quality across our source applications. Work with respective data owners to ensure data quality issues are addressed
- Collaboration: Work closely with different departments to understand data needs and provide analytical support for ongoing projects
- Documentation and Reporting: Document data sources, processes, and analysis methodologies clearly for future reference and team collaboration
- Currently pursuing a degree in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science or a related field
- Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Excel or SQL
- Basic knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
- Understanding of statistical analysis and data modeling techniques
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with large datasets
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot data anomalies or error
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholder
- Self-motivated, eager to learn, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Gain hands-on experience working with real-world datasets and complex analytics projects
- Develop technical skills in data analysis, modeling, and visualization
- Learn how to work in a professional, fast-paced business environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Receive mentorship and guidance from industry professionals in the field of data analytics
