Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Landscape Technician is to assist with the construction/installation of designated landscape projects. This position will assist with various outdoor landscape project installations that improve the property's functional and/or aesthetic value. Many projects include soft-scape and hardscape installation, including pavers, retaining walls, and outdoor kitchens. All Weller Brothers team members are expected to provide excellent client service by assisting clients promptly and courteously, answering questions, and providing information as needed. A landscape technician will be expected to perform all job responsibilities in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and competency satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Team members must be able to perform the following tasks during a typical 8+ hour day.
SEDENTARY WORK: Lifting up to 10#; occasionally lifting or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers, and small tools. Work essentially involves sitting and is considered sedentary if only a small amount of walking and standing is necessary to carry out duties.
LIGHT WORK: Lifting up to 20#, frequently lifting or carrying objects up to 10#. Work is classified light if it requires walking or standing to a significant degree (regardless of weight lifted) or involves sitting most of the time with a degree of pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls.
LIGHT MEDIUM WORK: Lifting up to 30#; frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 20#.
MEDIUM WORK: Lifting up to 50#; frequent lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 25#.
LIGHT-HEAVY WORK: Lifting up to 80#; frequent lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 45#.

HEAVY WORK: Lifting up to 100#; frequent lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 80#.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time non-exempt position. Specific schedules will be determined based on the weather and the general needs of the business.

- Take direction from the job site foreman.
- Communicate with the job site foreman and landscape designer to make sure the job is being completed to the Weller Brothers quality standards.
- Have the ability to adapt and perform other landscape team member duties as needed.
- Maintain clean and safe job sites.
- Maintain a strong work ethic to complete a variety of physical job tasks.
- Professionally communicate with clients to achieve strong client/company relationships if necessary.
- Operate a variety of outdoor landscape and power equipment, as well as a variety of hand tools.
- Commit the hours necessary to make sure the job is done to satisfaction; this may include weekends and/or holidays
- Maintain a clean appearance and conform to the Weller Brothers dress code.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and installation practices.
- Assist in maintaining all company equipment.
- Follow all policies as specified in the Team Member Handbook.
- Make decisions that are in the best interest of the company.
- Other duties are needed to help drive and fulfill the Weller Brothers missions, including referring new team members for employment.

- Strong attention to detail
- Experience installing soft-scapes, such as edging, mulch, rock, plants, trees, and sod, is preferred.
- Experience installing hardscapes, such as pavers, retaining walls, and outdoor kitchens, is preferred.
- Minimum of one year experience in industry or related field.
- Must be 16 years or older
- High school diploma/GED
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are preferred.
