Position Summary

The Assistant Controller position is responsible for supporting accounting functions and developing financial reporting for ODW Logistics. We are looking for motivated individuals who want to be a part of our growing company that can play a vital role in our Accounting Department

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support the activities of the corporate accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, audits, budgets and sales reports.
  • Assist with all month-end close processes
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of annual budgets and forecasts for the company’s operations.
  • Conduct variance analysis and explain discrepancies between actual and forecasted results.
  • Support all accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash management activities
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and journal entries
  • Analyze current procedures; recommend changes for continuous improvement
  • Maintain accurate and complete financial records, participate in audits or reconciliations as needed
  • Help develop and implement accounting software and processes
  • Contribute to the accounting and organizational mission by completing related reports and analysis as needed
  • All other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Economics (required).
  • 5+ year(s) of experience in accounting-related field preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools preferred
