PLR Talent Forward is proud to partner with Lion’s Share Federal Credit Union in the search for an eager and experienced Staff Account to play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting audits—all in a dynamic environment.

What You'll Do

The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the credit union’s financial records and ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions. This position requires strong analytical skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager/VP of Finance, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for reconciliations, preparing reports, posting journal entries, and assisting with financial audits and regulatory compliance.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts daily, ensuring all transactions are balanced and discrepancies are resolved.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, including month-end close and audit schedules.
• Research and correct accounting errors by posting adjusting journal entries.
• Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payment processing.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting by collecting and analyzing financial data.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
• Provide recommendations to improve accounting processes and operational efficiencies.
  
  

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably within a credit union or financial institution.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and cost accounting principles.

• Location: On-site in Salisbury, NC
