Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, team-focused, curious in nature, and must be a solutions seeker.

Location:

This role will be a hybrid opportunity - working both in the Buhler office located at: 111 Old Mill Lane Buhler, Kansas and remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, procure, design, develop, configure and networks and associated systems for network monitoring and incident management
  • Analyze, evaluate and monitor network infrastructure to ensure networks are configured to operate for optimal performance
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose network problems, and determine the most appropriate means of resolving problems and issues to improve network performance
  • Enhance the ability to monitor the overall performance of systems to assess the need for updates, upgrades, enhancements, preventive maintenance and new systems, and recommend options for upgrading and improving the performance of systems
  • Plan and communicate the steps needed to deliver a defined outcome as specified by the contract and budget
  • Evaluate and document the business case for a defined initiative
  • View overall business priorities and redefine own and team’s priorities in line with expectations and objectives
  • Assure most urgent and important needs of the business are achieved
  • Summarize technical information into a format suitable for senior management
  • Interface with other departments with projects or technical assistance

Requirements

Experience/Knowledge Required:

  • 3+ years experience in network engineering
  • Experience with designing, developing, configuring and commissioning networks

Preferences

  • Previous experience in implementing telecom networks
  • Previous experience in troubleshooting/managing VoIP issues
  • Previous experience with wireless technologies such as Ubiquiti UniFi/UNMS, Siklu PtP/PtMP, and Enterprise WiFi deployment/troubleshooting
  • Previous experience with GPON technology deployment and support
  • Previous experience with eLAN/eLINE network deployments
  • General knowledge of telecommunications services (i.e., internet, wireless, phone systems)
