Responsibilities
- Client Representation: Provide high-quality legal representation to clients in personal injury cases.
- Case Management: Handle all stages of litigation, from initial case evaluation through resolution. This includes managing pre-litigation demands, discovery, pre-trial preparation, trial, settlement negotiations, and mediation.
- Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and setting expectations regarding case progress, timelines, and potential outcomes.
- Legal Research & Documentation: Conduct thorough legal research, draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and legal documents needed for court filings and negotiations.
- Negotiation: Effectively negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel to secure the best possible outcome for clients.
- Trial Preparation: Prepare cases for trial, including drafting witness lists, coordinating expert witnesses, preparing trial exhibits, and representing clients in court as needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with case managers, assistants, and other legal staff to ensure accurate and timely handling of cases.
- Compliance: Ensure all legal proceedings and case management practices adhere to state, federal, and ethical standards.
- Client Advocacy: Advocate passionately on behalf of injured clients to secure fair compensation for damages such as medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and future needs.
- Continuing Education: Stay updated on changes in personal injury law and attend relevant training, seminars, or workshops to maintain expertise in the field.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Washington State
- 3-5 years of experience in personal injury law, preferably with trial experience.
- Strong understanding of personal injury laws and legal procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven negotiation and advocacy abilities.
- Independently manage multiple cases and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in legal research software and case management systems.
- Salary: Compensation is competitive and based on qualifications and experience. Performance-based bonuses are awarded and may vary depending on the attorney.
