THE ROLE
The Barback at the Maryland Club, located in the XFINITY Center in College Park, MD, plays a key role in ensuring the bar operates seamlessly by supporting bartenders, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and preparing supplies to provide exceptional service to members and guests.
Essential Functions
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and skilled in maintaining the efficiency of a high-paced bar environment.
Required Qualifications
Hourly rate, commensurate with experience, and eligibility for overtime. This role may be eligible for Legends’ comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, paid vacation, and access to a 401k plan.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Location: On-site at the XFINITY Center in College Park, MD

THE ROLE
The Barback at the Maryland Club, located in the XFINITY Center in College Park, MD, plays a key role in ensuring the bar operates seamlessly by supporting bartenders, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and preparing supplies to provide exceptional service to members and guests.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for stocking bar items daily and filling ice bins as needed.
- Anticipate bartender needs throughout the shift to ensure efficient service.
- Provide bartenders with supplies and requested items promptly to enhance guest service.
- Prepare garnishes, batch cocktails, make infused syrups, and follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency and quality.
- Assist in keeping all areas clean and organized, including bar, back bar, and storage areas.
- Report to work on time and be prepared to start at the scheduled time.
- Set up work areas as directed and according to Maryland Club standards.
- Abide by the operating standards outlined in the policy and procedure manual.
- Maintain knowledge of bar layout, inventory, and bar equipment to fulfill requests quickly and efficiently.
- Ensure prompt, quality service is provided to bartenders and guests.
- Perform other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required by management.

Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to interact effectively with co-workers to ensure compliance with service standards.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
- Ability to lift and transport items weighing 10-30 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Sufficient mobility to perform tasks requiring constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods.
- Must be able to read, speak, and write in English to communicate effectively with guests.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Must be able to work all Maryland Club events, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Two to three years of experience working in a fast-paced bar, high-end club, or restaurant.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to anticipate the needs of bartenders and guests.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring physical effort.
- Ability to lift, carry, and transport items weighing up to 50 pounds.
