About the Role

We are seeking a VP, Growth to own new payer partnership development—building and executing a strategy to expand TailorCare's relationships with health plans, risk-bearing primary care groups (PCPs), and other risk-bearing entities. This is a high-impact, senior-level role focused on pipeline generation, deal execution, and growth of covered lives.

This role is ideal for a hunter who thrives on identifying opportunities, engaging senior executives, navigating complex payer organizations, and closing multi-year value-based care agreements. You will be responsible for building and executing TailorCare's payer sales strategy, driving end-to-end business development efforts, and moving prospects from initial conversations to executed contracts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build & Own the Pipeline: Develop a systematic approach to identifying, qualifying, and engaging new payer partners, including national/regional health plans, MSOs, and risk-bearing PCP groups.
  • Execute a Sales Pipeline: Drive prospective partners through the full business development cycle—from first conversation to contract execution—aligning with TailorCare's growth strategy.
  • Engage Senior Stakeholders: Develop and manage relationships with payer decision-makers, including network, medical management, actuarial, and finance teams at health plans and provider groups.
  • Develop Winning Value Propositions: Craft compelling, data-driven business cases that demonstrate TailorCare's ability to improve outcomes, reduce costs, and align with payer strategies.
  • Negotiate & Close Deals: Lead contract negotiations, securing favorable terms that align with TailorCare's financial and operational goals.
  • Expand TailorCare's Footprint: Prioritize and pursue opportunities with Medicare Advantage, commercial, and Medicaid plans in key target markets.
  • Coordinate Internal Teams: Work closely with actuarial, finance, clinical, and operations teams to craft customized partnership proposals.
  • Track & Report Progress: Maintain visibility into the pipeline through CRM management and deal reporting, ensuring alignment with company-wide growth objectives.

Who You Are

  • Proven Business Development Leader: 10+ years in payer sales, business development, or network contracting within value-based care, digital health, or MSK healthcare.
  • Hunter Mentality: You thrive on building relationships, creating opportunities, and driving deals forward.
  • Deep Payer Knowledge: Strong understanding of health plan decision-making, contracting structures, risk-based agreements, and reimbursement models.
  • Executive Presence: Ability to engage and influence C-suite, VP, and Director-level stakeholders at health plans and provider groups.
  • Structured & Persistent: Ability to execute a disciplined sales process, manage multiple prospects simultaneously, and drive toward deal closure.
  • Strong Negotiator: Experience structuring and negotiating value-based agreements, shared savings models, or risk-based contracts.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required

What's In It For You

  • Meaningful Work: We are dedicated to our mission and deeply value our patients and each other. Each day offers the opportunity to make a positive impact.
  • Work Environment: We operate as a remote-first company with options for a hybrid work model in Nashville.
  • Time Off: Our generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday plans ensure you have ample time to rest and recharge.
  • Family First: We offer paid parental leave and support a healthy work-life balance, encouraging flexibility and autonomy. We love talking about our family and pets!
  • Comprehensive Benefits: From Day 1, employees enjoy medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, wellness resources and an employer HSA contribution.
  • Fair Compensation: We are committed to equitable pay for all team members and support your future goals with a 401k plan that includes employer matching.
  • Community: We foster an inclusive environment where you can rely on your teammates, share honest feedback, and feel comfortable being your authentic self at work each day.
