The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

What you'll be doing
- Instructs programs as assigned in accordance with YMCA guidelines.
- May assist in the development of programming
- Follow YMCA policies and procedures including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergency procedures
- Increase participant awareness of whole person health.
- Sets up and takes down class equipment. Reports any equipment needs to supervisor.
- Accurately maintains related records.
- Conveys basic information on YMCA programs and schedules to members and, as appropriate, refers members to other YMCA programs and/or staff.
- Attends staff meetings and approved trainings as required.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
What we're looking for in an applicant
- At least 16 years of age or older.
- Six months or more previous experience working with children; camps, child care, tutoring, nanny, coaching.
- Current state approved first-aid certification*
- Current state approved community CPR certification*
- Knowledge of culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Within 90 days of start date
Preferred Education/Experience
- Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
