This position is full time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8am - 5pm PST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
We offer 3-6 weeks of training. The hours during training will be 8:00 am to 5:00 pm PST, Monday - Friday.
If you are located in PST, MST or CST, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities
- Answer 30-50 incoming phone calls per day, per team from customers and identify the type of assistance the customer needs as well as making outbound calls to customers regarding medical referrals
- Ask appropriate questions and listen actively to identify specific questions or issues while documenting required information in computer systems
- Assisting customers with obtaining prescribed medical equipment and supplies
- Verifying insurance eligibility and benefit coverage. Obtaining insurance authorization
- Research complex issues across multiple databases and work with support resources to resolve customer issues and/or partner with others to resolve escalated issues
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- 1+ years of experience working in customer service in a call center environment
- Experience with computers and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications
- Ability work an 8-hour shift schedule during our normal business hours of (8:00am - 5:00pm PST). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime
- Health care/insurance experience
- Reside within Pacific Time Zone, Mountain Time Zone, or Central Time Zone
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
- Demonstrated ability to listen skillfully, collect relevant information, build rapport and respond to customers in a compassionate manner
- Proficient conflict management skills to resolve issues in a stressful situation
- All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy
