Fitness Director Job Description

Excellent Opportunity for a Fitness Professional to join a well-established Country Club. Belle Haven Country Club seeks Fitness and Wellness Director to oversee all areas of the fitness and childcare operations. Must develop and enhance our current fitness professionals, programs, increase our membership usage, train, and develop a culture to fitness staff to receive incoming and departing members of our facility. Newly renovated facility with state-of-the-art fitness equipment. Fitness facility is equipped with reception desk, cafe', private rooms for classes and instruction, pool and patio areas. Essential Functions

  • Consistently deliver a unique fitness experience to every member
  • Recruit, hire, and manage fitness staff
  • Oversee fitness center operations and programs
  • Assist in day-to-day club operations as member of management team
  • Conduct new member orientation, movement analysis, and other pre-exercise programs
  • Provide team members with ongoing feedback and evaluations
  • Motivate others with personal training sales and performance goals

Specific Job Tasks/Duties

  • Ensures and oversees proper operations of the fitness/wellness/group exercise/childcare facilities and programs.
  • Be visible to staff and members in order to provide quality programs and answer questions.
  • Provides hands on instruction and services as needed.
  • Groom an Assistant to cover evenings and weekends when you are not onsite.
  • Cooperates with other department heads, staff and volunteers
  • Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises the finest fitness/wellness and childcare staff.
  • Ensures that all fitness staff is trained and certified with an acceptable Fitness degrees and certifications as well as American Red Cross and AED training.
  • Administer annual staff evaluations and approves biweekly Fitness/Childcare payroll.
  • Proposes an annual budget for the operating fitness department and capital needs for facilities and equipment.
  • Maintains and oversees the day-to-day financial operations of the Fitness Department.
  • Oversees the proper maintenance schedule and purchasing of equipment within the approved budgetary guidelines.
  • Supervises the maintenance and cleanliness of all wellness, fitness, and equipment and facilities.
  • Conduct monthly Fitness and Wellness Committee meetings with member volunteers. Create agenda and minutes. The Committee, if needed, makes recommendations to the Board.
  • Maintains certification with American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), American Council of Exercise (ACE), Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), International Fitness Professionals Association (IFPA), or National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Base $75,000.00 per year plus 5% Commission on Annual Fitness Revenue as well as Personal Training Commission. Potential to make $100k or more.

Experience

  • Fitness: 5 years (Required)

License/Certification

  • Fitness Instructor License (Required)

Requirements

Must have prior fitness management exp.
