Key Responsibilities

  • Review bid specifications, plans, and drawings to prepare accurate scopes and bid packages.
  • Assist in project setup, document uploads, and data maintenance in Building Connected
  • Assist in compiling bid proposals and precon proposals
  • Conduct calls to subcontractors, tracking bid responses
  • Handle phone inquiries
  • Coordinate subcontractor outreach and solicitations, including local and minority bidders
  • Conduct constructability reviews and value engineering exercises
  • Prepare conceptual, schematic, and design development budgets
  • Follow up on submitted bids to help win work and maintain strong industry relationships
  • Maintain the Bid Activity Log
  • Oversee the Subcontractor Log
  • Ensure timely and complete project handoffs to Project Management.
  • Award subcontracts ensuring full scope and alignment with project schedule.
  • Foster relationships with subcontractors while enforcing SEMCO's standards.
  • Maintain project documentation and input data into estimating software.
  • Represent SEMCO in client meetings, attend after-hours work events for business development efforts (as needed)

Qualifications

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • 3+ years of commercial construction experience (Preconstruction or Estimating).
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and estimating practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and construction estimating software.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated with strong follow-through skills.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites and client meetings.
