ProAutomated is seeking a Payroll & Finance Specialist to support our Payroll and Finance team with tasks including payroll processing, expense management, accounting support, and financial data entry. This full-time, Monday–Friday role will be based in Newark, Delaware, with a mix of in-office and work-from-home flexibility. All training will be conducted in-office.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Payroll & Finance Specialist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with biweekly payroll processing for 100+ field employees across the U.S. and Canada
  • Reviewing and reconciling time entries and expense reports
  • Ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and relevant payroll regulations
  • Supporting general accounting tasks such as data entry, audits, and reconciliations
  • Collaborating with the Finance team to maintain accurate records and streamline processes
  • Communicating with team members regarding pay & expenses

You’ll play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and employee trust while gaining exposure to a wide range of accounting functions. Over time, you’ll have the opportunity to take on more ownership of processes and bring forward ideas for continuous improvement.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Exceptionally detail-oriented and organized
  • Trustworthy and operates with a strong sense of ethics and discretion
  • Comfortable working with numbers and financial data
  • A clear communicator who thrives in a collaborative, team-focused environment
  • Proficient in spreadsheets (Google Sheets or Excel); experience with payroll or accounting software is a plus
    • Experience with Canadian payroll - a big plus!
  • Flexible and adaptable

Candidate requirements:

  • 1 year of experience working with payroll
    • Paycor & ADP experience a plus
    • Canadian payroll experience a plus
  • 2 years of financial experience in an office setting is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software suite & Google systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changes in tasks as necessary. We are a growing company!
