Job Summary
The Career Development Program (CDP) Case Manager provides case management
for clients enrolled in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act
(WIOA) program and other employment and training grants. The Career
Development Program assists job seekers and youth with the training, work
opportunities and supports needed to be successful in the workplace. The CDP
Case Manager works to ensure the success of the client by offering coaching
and resources very specific to each client.
Essential Duties

responsibilities may not be performed by all incumbents.)
Interviews clients, collects pertinent demographic and employment history
data; assesses needs, job skills and employment history to determine
eligibility and ascertain suitability for enrollment into training and
employment programs.
Identifies barriers to training and employment for clients and makes
appropriate referrals to campus and community resources to remove such
barriers.
Utilizing information gathered during assessment, develops Individual
Employment Plans (IEP) with clients, outlining training and employment
goals as well as supportive services needed to achieve such goals.
Applies time management and organizational skills in order to maintain a
caseload deemed appropriate by the Career Development Program Supervisor.
Builds and manages client case files in accordance with standardized
protocol, including accurate and complete forms as required by the Colorado
Department of Labor & Employment and Mesa County.
Completes data entry of client information into the state computer system in a
timely manner, including comprehensive, detailed case notes.
Interprets career and job skills assessments results and provides guidance to
clients.
Meets regularly with clients to update plan and progress towards goals set
forth in the IEP.
Provides clients with information regarding local and state labor market to
assist them in reaching their career goals.
In collaboration with other case managers, may make program presentations to
community agencies and employers.
Oversees clients in work experience and on-the-job training activities;
maintains communication with employers regarding client performance and
provides coaching to the client based on employer feedback.
Develops and maintains relationships with training providers and employers.
Assists with employer relations activities, including consultative
meetings, job fairs, workshops and networking events.
Maintains knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and agency rules,
regulations, policies, and guidelines.
Positively represents the Workforce Center by having general knowledge of the
various programs offered throughout the Department of Human Services.
Other related duties as assigned.
Youth Specific Essential Job Functions
Provides wrap-around services for youth by implementing the WIOA Youth
Elements.
Collaborates with local high schools in order to implement dropout prevention
programming.
Partners with Child Welfare Chafee and Youth-in-Transition programs to provide
intensive case management for youth.
Partners with local school districts to create meaningful work experiences for
in-school youth
Participates in youth specific outreach events in collaboration with internal
teams and local partners such as local school districts, and Colorado Mesa
University.
Coordinates and promotes opportunities for career exploration and hands-on
learning.
