Responsibilities

The Mold Tooling Technician will be responsible for the maintenance of all mold equipment and for maintaining the integrity of the Mold process in the plant.

• Read and understand engineering tool and mold drawings and schematics
• Build and repair close tolerance tools and mold components.
• Working knowledge of the glass molding process
• Ability to operate band saws, drill press, CNC mills, manual lathes, and grinders
• Analyzes specifications, grind/fabricate and repairs molds, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures
• Read Blueprints, use Micrometers, Calipers and Comparator
• Make tooling repairs and spot tools for proper fit
• Maintain tooling systems
• Maintain assembly line fixtures and spare parts inventory
• Read blueprints and work with precise tolerances
• Trouble shooting maintenance repair and fabrication of machine parts, molds, etc.
• Test machine parts to precision tolerance and specified finishes
• Strong diagnostic skills required
• Inspect mold equipment against specifications and blueprints
• Inspect and repair new and used Mold equipment using gauges and other equipment as necessary.
• Test machine parts to precision tolerance and specified finishes
• Records findings and/or repairs on mold record card
• Notifies supervisor of defective equipment
• Sets up and operates all machines common to the trade, adjusting stops, feeds and speeds for efficient machining
• Sets up and operate all other required equipment

Requirements

Technical Education or equivalent work experience required

1 Year Glass Experience Preferred

5 years of experience in similar position preferred Committed to continuous learning.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to thrive in a fast paced and demanding position.

Ability to analyze complex data and concisely present actionable intelligence.
