Description
Shopbop is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual for a role that combines fashion-based data entry with writing unique details to describe key product information in customer facing descriptions that are featured on both Amazon Marketplace and Shopbop.com product pages.
An interest in fashion is a must, and familiarity with textiles, fabrics names, and clothing construction is necessary for the successful candidate. The role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to concisely and accurately convey product details to the customer—so writing skills are a plus!
Catalog specialists are also responsible for prepping product for downstream workflows, capturing measurements, documenting FTC/FDA requirements to ensure compliance and mitigating issues/missing information through problem solving and contacting vendors.

Key job responsibilities
- Capture and record measurements and data for a variety of products accurately and efficiently
- Utilize and interpret vendor provided specifications to convey necessary information
- Determine and record fabric type and key unique details of product while leveraging SEO best practices/SOPs
- Assign HTS Classification using internal and external programs
- Physically and systematically prep and move product through workflows which includes using a pallet jack or carts to move product
- Self-manage workload to meet or exceed daily quotas with impeccable accuracy
- Assist in other areas and cross train on other teams as needed, including inventory or studio teams
- Assist in miscellaneous projects as needed, including auditing processes and excel reporting
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
- Experience with Excel
- 3 years of relevant experience or degree
- Proven knowledge of fashion, clothing construction, and fabric types
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong reading and writing skills with an emphasis on spelling and grammar
- Ability to read small print quickly and accurately
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment as well as on a team
- Exceptional time management, problem solving, and multitasking skills
- Desire to improve processes
- Keen eye for detail
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- 40-hour work week with flexibility to work overtime or weekends
- Prior experience in a Catalog role or writing product descriptions
- Strong awareness of brands we carry
- Previous experience in a photo studio, or other fashion-based operations environment
