The Manager Supply Planning is tasked with overseeing and optimizing the supply planning processes for Gainesville and Sarasota manufacturing sites, including Packaging. Responsibilities include coordinating supply plans and item-level master schedules, defining and improving standard procedures, and fostering collaboration with cross-functional teams. Utilize various tools and methodologies to drive continuous improvement and automation, achieving supply objectives that align with and support higher-level business objectives. Develop a high-performing team of planners/analysts and maintain process maps and business requirements. Ensure adherence to quality systems and standards, supporting the company's supply planning excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the creation of supply plans and item-level master schedules for the production environment for Gainesville/Sarasota manufacturing sites, including Packaging.
- Define and monitor Supply Planning standard work to achieve specific Operational goals aligned with overall company objectives.
- Work with the appropriate teams to address and correct deficiency in the standard work as needed.
- Maintain or create Supply Planning standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions (WIs) that support current Supply Planning standard work. Ensure the supply team understands and follows all SOPs.
- Determine annual and rolling production volumes with input from the Supply Planners and Analysts, Operations/Supply Chain and Finance.
- Create and utilize Supply Planning Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track and improve plan execution on various timescales and in various performance areas, such as capacity utilization, production plan achievement, supply/inventory health, backorders, financial outcomes, cycle times, customer order fulfillment, etc.
- Identify and evaluate supply risks and gaps versus demand. Evaluate impacts to the business, develop action plans, and work together with the Supply Planning team and other cross-functional teams to mitigate risks and gaps.
- Lead and/or participate in weekly and monthly collaboration teams/meetings to present short and long-term supply health and operational performance or resolve demand-supply imbalances, including but not limited to Production Review meetings, Gemba walks, supply huddles, and Business Unit reviews.
- Identify and drive supply planning improvement opportunities/projects and work with team members to implement them as needed.
- Employ methods and frameworks such as A3 Problem Solving, DMAIC, PDCA, Lean Six Sigma, Standard Work, Poka Yoke, and Master Scheduling best practices to fix operational problems permanently and drive Operations toward business objectives.
- Employ tools and skills such as MS Excel, programming, ERP/MRP systems/features, Business Intelligence tools, and the like to enhance our understanding and control of supply planning and to drive automation.
- Own MRP system inputs and parameters to ensure the proper signals are sent to operators, and to control manufacturing work orders accordingly.
- Foster a high-performing team of Planners/Analysts, developing their skills and expertise to continuously and redundantly cover all Supply Planning needs, targeting the creation of future operational leaders at the Company.
- Business Process Owner (BPO) for Supply Planning IT areas.
- Maintain current and future state process maps.
- Maintain current and future state business requirements.
- Liaise with IT to make improvements.
- Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with Cross-Functional Teams, including but not limited to Supply/Demand Planning, Purchasing, Manufacturing/Packaging, IT, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.
- Collaborate with and support Exactech International manufacturing sites as needed.
- Know and apply the Quality System and any appropriate Federal and International Standards.
- Assist and support other employees, teams and sales personnel as necessary.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required, or equivalent skills and experience.
- Minimum 6-10 years in Production, Scheduling, Planning, or Analytical role within a manufacturing environment using ERP and MRP systems.
- Experience with QAD preferred.
- Experience in medical device industry preferred.
- Must possess and demonstrate strong leadership, team building, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Self-starter, well organized and able to make sound decisions from proper analysis of data
- Proven advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
- Knowledge of one or more programming language preferred.
- Knowledge of Power BI or similar Business Intelligence tool preferred.
- CPM, CPIM, CSCP, Oliver Wight, or industry certification desired.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of GMP and ISO 9001:13485 preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize effectively to achieve high level goals alongside day-to-day objectives.
