Expected pay for this position is $21.72 - $25.55/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

Postion requires approx 1- day in-office work per week. Work from home benefit is available once work performance guidelines are met and maintained.

Position Summary

The Clinical Denials & Appeals Specialist is responsible for abstracting data and entering information into computerized databases to support clinical denials and appeals. The Specialist completes denials issues to OSF HealthCare from Medicaid. Supports departmental staff with clerical functions of their role, including but not limited to providing appeal letters, providing medical records to outside agencies, communication management, and documentation of denials in electronic systems.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Associates

Experience: 1 year of clerical work experience.

Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of a clinical EMR system. Familiar with medical terminology. Demonstrated ability to work independently and execute own workload within established time frame. Flexibility and willingness to adapt to evolving job roles within the constantly changing work environment.
