This role demands a professional with a strong background in construction management, particularly with expertise in electrical systems and permitting processes. Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Electrical Systems Oversight: Coordinate with electrical engineers and contractors to ensure the design and installation of electrical systems meet project specifications and comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Permitting & Compliance: Obtain necessary permits and approvals from relevant authorities, ensuring all construction activities adhere to zoning laws, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal teams to facilitate effective communication and project alignment.
  • Budget & Cost Management: Monitor project expenditures, manage budgets, and implement cost-control measures to prevent overruns.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure construction quality meets company standards and project specifications.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Education: Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred; 10+ years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management for industrial/commercial buildings
  • Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification(s) preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore) and a solid understanding of electrical systems and construction methodologies.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local, state, and federal building codes, safety regulations, and permitting requirements.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Electrical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of electrical systems design and installation processes.
  • Local Experience: Experience managing construction projects within the greater Hickory area, with established relationships with local permitting authorities.
  • Safety Compliance: Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
