The Physician Recruitment Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying, engaging, and cultivating relationships with qualified physician candidates to fill current and future openings. This role is critical in supporting the organization’s mission to provide exceptional healthcare by ensuring a robust pipeline of top-tier talent. The Specialist will collaborate closely with recruitment and hiring teams to develop innovative sourcing strategies, maintain candidate pipelines, and uphold a positive candidate experience.

The Physician Recruitment Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying, engaging, and cultivating relationships with qualified physician candidates to fill current and future openings. This role is critical in supporting the organization’s mission to provide exceptional healthcare by ensuring a robust pipeline of top-tier talent. The Specialist will collaborate closely with recruitment and hiring teams to develop innovative sourcing strategies, maintain candidate pipelines, and uphold a positive candidate experience.
Responsibilities
- Proactively source physician candidates through multiple channels, including databases, job boards, social media platforms, professional associations, and industry events.
- Build and maintain a strong network of qualified candidates for current and future needs.
- Research, identify and evaluate new sourcing tools, platforms, and methods to expand reach. Recommend most effective means of sourcing using current and new methods.
- Develop and maintain relationships with medical schools, residency programs, and fellowship programs to build a pipeline of early-career physicians.
- Develop job posting and ad templates that maximize our brand, peak interest in the position and sell the organization.
- Conduct initial outreach and screening of potential candidates to assess qualifications, interest, and alignment with organizational needs.
- Ensure a seamless and professional candidate experience from first contact through the recruitment process.
- Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to understand recruitment needs, timelines, and priorities.
- Contribute to the development of tailored recruitment and sourcing strategies for specialty-specific positions.
- Research and evaluate career fairs and conferences annually to determine which best suit current and future recruitment need according to staffing forecast.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate information in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Analyze data to identify trends, measure sourcing effectiveness, and suggest improvements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of physician specialties, credentialing, and healthcare industry trends.
- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS), candidate relationship management (CRM) tools, and sourcing platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter, Doximity).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, healthcare administration, or related field required.
- Experience: 3 years of experience in recruitment or sourcing, preferably in healthcare or physician recruitment required.
- Certifications: Professional certification (i.e. AAPPR or PHR) preferred.
- Experience with physician recruitment, marketing, including social media campaigns and advertisements.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and licensing requirements.
