Medical Records Specialist is responsible for organizing and maintaining patient records within a healthcare setting, ensuring the accuracy, confidentiality, and efficient retrieval of patient information. They manage both physical and electronic records, retrieve files for appointments and requests, and adhere to regulations like HIPAA.

- Filing documents, scanning records, and updating patient charts.
- Locating records for appointments, requests, and audits, while ensuring proper authorization and compliance with regulations.
- Verifying patients information, correcting errors, and ensuring records are up-to-date.
- Maintaining patient privacy and following HIPAA regulations.
- Participating in audits, investigations, and quality assurance activities related to medical records.
- Answering phones, responding to emails, processing admissions and discharges.
- Providing necessary forms and documents to nursing staff.
- Organized and attention to detail.
- Able to communicate efficiently with patients, staff, and external agencies
- Computer literacy: to use electronic health records systems and other software
- Fluent in both English and Spanish
