Riega Foods, LLC, is a family owned and operated organic herb, spice, and spice blend manufacturer in Kansas City, MO. We are a fast-growing company looking for a Supply Chain Operations Leader to join our team. This position is in-person at Riega’s plant in Kansas City, Missouri. Successful candidates will be able to work 40 hours per week, with actual working hours flexible between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
The Supply Chain Operations Leader (SCOL) is responsible for overseeing and optimizing supply chain operations from capacity planning to supplier management. This role involves leading the Production Planning and Rough Cut Capacity Plan (RCCP) analysis monthly, and updating the Sales Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) decks accordingly. The SCOL will then prepare weekly and daily production schedules, and coordinate all phases of the day-to-day manufacturing operations to meet production goals.
The SCOL is also tasked with executing the monthly Buy Supply Plan for packaging and updating the SIOP decks accordingly. This role serves as the relationship manager for packaging and select ingredient suppliers. This involves vendor evaluation and selection, contract negotiations, performance monitoring, and ensuring procurement processes are smoothly executed.
Key responsibilities:
Production Planning & Scheduling
Lead long-term Production Planning; coordinate all phases of manufacturing scheduling to satisfy customer and internal requirements.
Serve as the lead for sourcing packaging supplies and support other raw material sourcing activities.

Travel and On-Site Work Requirements: Occasional travel may be required for trade shows and supplier visits. Work will be performed primarily on-site at Riega Foods’ Kansas City, MO offices during normal business hours. However, the Supply Chain Operations Leader will be expected to respond to urgent production needs outside of normal business hours. Occasional remote work during normal business hours may be permitted with advance notice and supervisor approval, based on business demands.

Key responsibilities:
Production Planning & Scheduling

- Build a long-term Production Plan (6 mos.) to meet budgeted demand
- Lead monthly RCCP (Rough Cut Capacity Plan) analysis
- Participate in the Demand Plan reconciliation process for manufactured items
- Prepare weekly and daily production schedule to meet budgeted demands and maintain target inventory levels
- Communicate production schedule to internal teams, to ensure availability of sufficient labor and raw materials to meet scheduled production goals
- Generate and close work orders for manufacturing activities; manage material movements within the warehouse to support production
Serve as the lead for sourcing packaging supplies and support other raw material sourcing activities.
- Lead monthly Buy Supply Planning for packaging materials
- Develop and execute procurement strategy for all packaging materials and plant supplies
- Lead supplier onboarding process for packaging materials and plant supplies; negotiate contract pricing and terms; enter purchase orders into MRP system
- Collaborate with finance and project management teams to ensure adherence to budget constraints
- Initiate and support quality-related activities related to new packaging materials or issues discovered in production planning process
- Assist with raw materials procurement activities as needed
- Manage outbound finished goods movements to 3PLs based on demand forecast and inventory targets
- Monitor inventory levels, initiate cycle counts and resolve inventory discrepancies at all warehouse locations
Qualifications:
Required
- Operations Supervision, Packaging Procurement, Scheduling, and related experiences.
- At least 5 years of experience in complex manufacturing, production planning, or a similar manufacturing coordination role.
- Prior experience with capacity planning, procurement, and supplier management.
- Strong knowledge of production scheduling, capacity analysis, and demand planning processes.
- Proficiency with supply chain software and plant operating systems such as Cin7, Redzone, and MRP tools. Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel. Familiar with PowerPoint.
- Ability to analyze production data, capacity constraints, and supply chain performance metrics.
- Strong leadership skills to oversee cross-functional teams and manage relationships.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder collaboration and reporting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Ability to create and monitor performance scoreboards and maintain supplier relationships.
- Experience in evaluating, selecting, and negotiating with suppliers.
- Familiarity with quality control processes (QA collaboration) and inventory control.
