We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team! In this role, you would be responsible for effectively running HR programs, policies and practices to ensure employees have a positive and productive work environment. Areas of focus include on/off-boarding, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, training and development, recruiting and general HR project support. The incumbent is expected to maintain objectives that support an employee-oriented, high performance culture emphasizing quality, productivity and empowerment.

We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team! In this role, you would be responsible for effectively running HR programs, policies and practices to ensure employees have a positive and productive work environment. The incumbent is expected to maintain objectives that support an employee-oriented, high performance culture emphasizing quality, productivity and empowerment.
Essential Functions
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development
- Handles employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff; provide coaching to managers and employees to best navigate
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
- Maintain and update employee database records and information including new hires, terminations, transfers, or changes; ensure record accuracy and confidentiality of information
- Oversee pre-hire and post-hire onboarding process; work with Talent Acquisition Specialist to coordinate and schedule new hire onboarding, IT orientation, and first day meetings
- Conduct new hire orientation and supervise the setup and assignment of office equipment for new hires with the help of external IT support
- Assist with benefits administration to ensure timely enrollment of benefits for new hires and processing of benefit changes and terminations
- Oversee 30-day check-in process for new hires and escalate any concerns to the appropriate parties in a timely manner
- Complete employment verifications and reply to unemployment claims as needed
- Manage offboarding process for exiting employees, including coordination of exit paperwork, exit interview and communication of benefits
- Assists with the organizing and planning of employee engagement and community engagement events
- Maintain position descriptions for the company and work with talent acquisitions to update job postings as needed
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training
- Assists with recruiting as needed to facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Working knowledge of Human Resources best practices, policies, procedures and federal and state laws
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Dedicated team player with a customer-service approach, friendliness and ability to build relationships
- Demonstrable experience of managing tasks and deadlines; able to resolve conflicting priorities
- Ability to audit and monitor quality of outputs; demonstrable experience of delivery against specified protocols/procedures ensuring the highest level of performance
- Self-directed, resourceful, and creative
- Ability to complete tasks independently and efficiently within a team
- Proven ability to handle confidential data and information
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- This job operates primarily in an office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to occasionally lift 25 pounds
- Occasional travel to site locations may be expected
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience, required
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in Human Resources
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP or PHR equivalent is preferred
