Description

PROJECT MANAGER

Monitoring, Control and Compliance, Inc. (MCC) is a privately owned small business providing services to the solid waste industry. Founded by a former landfill gas technician in 2005 with two employees; and has since grown to approximately 65 employees utilizing a controlled growth strategy.

Our focus is the operation and maintenance of landfill gas systems that are installed to reduce the emissions of Methane impacting our environment and provide for a “Green” energy source for our client’s end-users.

Skills Required

Management

  • Maintain solid relationships with client by maintain high quality performance standards, and effective communication at all times.
  • Supervisory responsibilities for multiple field staff
  • Schedule project routine tasks – Generate tuning, SEM, preventive maintenance schedule for all sites for which you are responsible. Ensure all are complete including preventative maintenance for mechanical apparatus for which we are responsible, and that client and internal SOP’s are followed. Communicate with all site parties (including plant personnel) the month’s schedule via email by the first day of the month.
  • Preparing cost estimates/proposals, provide to regional manager for review and approval.
  • Schedule non-routine events, including preparing work plan, ordering materials, PO generation and procurement, coordination of equipment and personnel.
  • Ensure health and safety of all staff, and specifically on managers projects. Ensure that all applicable safety procedures are followed and documented as required.
  • Responsible for the profitability of assigned projects.
  • Assist other regions in sharing under-utilized personnel or in times of need people to get the work completed. Share resources!
  • Attend project managers’ meeting to discuss pertinent issues for your projects and share.
  • Present our monthly data to the team associated with the site (i.e. environmental manager, site manager, air permitters, etc.).

Equipment

Make sure that equipment in your area (Envisions, trucks, generators, ATV’s, etc), are getting serviced correctly (Oil Changes, transmission service, tire rotations) and appropriate care to ensure long term use.

  • Ensure compliance from your technicians by filling out required inspection forms on time without fail.

Technical Guidance/Field Work

  • Review all collected landfill gas collection system data to ensure compliant and best practices operation of the collection and control system; along with consultation to client for system upgrades or repairs.
  • Generate recheck (Compliance), repairs, callout schedule and meeting schedule for all applicable technicians by the first of each month.
  • Evaluation of field work being performed, including critique of the quality to which the system is being kept up.
  • Be the first line of communication for technical questions.
  • From time to time, it will be required that you will be needed for field activities/repairs when higher level experience is required; and it is expected that you will be able to perform/fill in for field technicians when the need arises.

QA/QC

  • Inspect on occasions the quality of our work in the field.
  • Review field data for correct system operation.
  • Critique the data to provide feedback to technicians on tuning process
  • Make sure that data flow is consistent. This includes flare data and any other data the MCC is responsible for.

Reporting

  • Complete monthly reports according to established guidelines; within budget and on time.
  • Ensure all recommendations are accurate and up to date.
  • Invoicing
  • Approve invoices from outside vendors and return them by deadlines.
  • Weekly approval of technician timesheets and expenses.
  • Generate invoices and letters when required for invoice activities.
  • Ensure all projects charges are invoiced appropriately and according to budget.
  • Ensure all invoices are accurate for submittal.

Business Development

  • A key task of project management is the development of new business as well fully leveraging the existing projects to determine ways which MCC can assist clients.
  • Project Managers are responsible for looking outside of our existing client base for additional revenue sources.

Personnel Management

  • PM’s are integral in managing personnel and staff.
  • Review timesheet and expenses for personnel and approve according to established guidelines as necessary/assigned.
  • Perform unannounced site visits to evaluate technician adherence to company policies as well as proper performance/efficient use of time on site.
  • Perform evaluation of personnel as requested and for year-end reviews.
  • Ensure that technicians working on your projects adhere to all MCC policies and good work practices.
  • Ensure that all personnel in the area have required safety understanding of work and work in a safe manner. All safety related items are to be addressed with individuals immediately.
  • Provide both positive and negative feedback to the technicians that are working on your projects. This includes disciplinary action to others as required and/or directed by Regional Manager.
  • Mentoring staff, including teaching/assigning additional responsibilities to help them reach their full potential and grow within the organization.
