Intern, IT Security
Wage Rate = $17.00 per hour
The Intern, IT Security will learn and support the administering and implementation of processes within the IT Security programs.
Essential Job Functions
Education & Experience:
Student currently enrolled in an accredited university degree program that is related to Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Electrical Engineering.

Work a minimum of 10 hours weekly during the academic year and work full-time during the summer (40 hours per week). Workdays are flexible to accommodate student schedules within normal business hours. This position is located in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Intern, IT Security

The Intern, IT Security will learn and support the administering and implementation of processes within the IT Security programs.
Essential Job Functions
- Support threat and incident response efforts. Assist in security event monitoring/analysis and the investigation of security incidents.
- Support the cybersecurity team in testing, vulnerability assessments, metric tracking, penetration testing, and audits.
- Help maintain and update cybersecurity documentation, including policies, procedures, and incident response plans.
- Research emerging cybersecurity threats and trends to provide insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure the alignment of security practices with organizational goals.
- Perform other tasks and projects as assigned.
Education & Experience:
Student currently enrolled in an accredited university degree program that is related to Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Electrical Engineering.
Skills Of Interest
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, threats, and vulnerabilities.
- Familiarity with security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, endpoint security).
- Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
