Mile Marker is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Associate Director to lead our recruitment efforts in addition to supporting a range of People & Development priorities. The ideal candidate is passionate about talent and culture, excels at managing full cycle recruitment, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role partners closely with hiring managers and leadership to attract top talent and build strong candidate pipelines aligned with the agency's current and future needs. This hybrid role will report to the VP, People & Development.

Job Responsibilities

Leads Talent Acquisition (primary focus):

  • Own and execute the full-cycle recruitment process, from job requisition to offer acceptance, across all departments and levels
  • Partner with hiring managers to define job requirements and develop tailored hiring strategies, and advise on talent market insights
  • Source and engage candidates through platforms such as LinkedIn, Indeed, and industry-specific job boards
  • Lead the use of search tools and recruiting technologies, including LinkedIn Recruiter and other sourcing platforms
  • Manage the Applicant Tracking System (Rippling), ensuring accurate job postings, candidate records, and hiring workflows
  • Coordinate interviews and all candidate communications to ensure a professional, timely, and positive candidate experience
  • Support the development and implementation of candidate assessments and assignments, ensuring consistency and fairness
  • Collect, organize, and synthesize interview feedback from internal stakeholders to support strong, equitable hiring decisions
  • Lead offer negotiation and closing processes with selected candidates
  • Oversee the collection and accuracy of new hire data and documentation in partnership with finance and operations
  • Maintain and evolve the employee referral program
  • Develop recruitment toolkits and interviewing best practices training for hiring managers
  • Develop and manage internal job postings to support internal mobility and career progression
  • Engage and manage external recruiting partners as needed
  • Provide regular updates to hiring managers, the VP of Talent & Development, and the executive team on open roles and recruitment progress
  • Proactively build pipelines of qualified candidates for future hiring needs
  • Track and report on key hiring metrics and performance data, sharing insights with leadership quarterly
  • Represent and evangelize the Mile Marker brand throughout the recruitment process, effectively communicating the agency’s mission, values, and growth trajectory

Collaborates On Onboarding

  • Lead pre-employment coordination, including systems access and onboarding materials
  • Facilitate new hire orientation sessions in partnership with the VP, People & Development
  • Schedule executive onboarding meetings and initiates 30-, 60-, and 90-day check-ins
  • Collect and analyze onboarding feedback to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Maintain onboarding toolkits and partners with hiring managers for a consistent onboarding experience

Supports People & Talent Programs / Practices

  • Facilitate project management including monitoring and tracking for talent initiatives fueled by the HRIS (e.g. performance management, employee engagement surveys and mandatory training)
  • Assess quantitative results and provide reporting with insights and action items
  • Help build and maintain the job description library that will be used for both talent acquisition and internal career development (performance reviews, goal setting, etc.) and workforce planning (career advancement, learning & development, succession planning, etc.)
  • Manage the implementation and tracking of learning and development initiatives
  • Engage in employee engagement and agency culture planning and initiatives
  • Serve on the culture committee
  • Oversee the holiday and cultural observances calendar and initiatives

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition; exposure to broader HR functions a plus
  • Experience in the media industry strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively source candidates and build strong pipelines
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing tools, ATS systems (Rippling a plus), and recruitment metrics
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a high level of attention to detail
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities with a solution-oriented mindset
  • Self-starter with a collaborative spirit and a desire to make a lasting impact
  • Based in the New York tri-state area, with the ability to be in-office 1-2 days per week as needed is preferred

The Pay Range For This Role Is

$80,000 - 100,000 USD per year (Hybrid NYC)
