Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the clinical team at our 280-bed skilled nursing facility located in Queens, NY. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership, deep knowledge of regulatory standards, and a proven ability to drive clinical excellence and high-quality resident care in a fast-paced, Short term and long-term care environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic clinical leadership and supervision of the nursing department
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including DOH and CMS guidelines
  • Lead and manage a team of RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and department supervisors to deliver quality care and meet performance goals
  • Oversee development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to improve resident outcomes and satisfaction
  • Maintain survey readiness and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Monitor staffing patterns and acuity levels, ensuring appropriate clinical coverage
  • Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and professional development
  • Serve as a resource and mentor for clinical staff, promoting continuous improvement and staff retention


Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York (Required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility
  • Proven experience managing large teams and complex clinical operations in a high-volume environment
  • In-depth understanding of NYS DOH regulations and CMS guidelines
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated success with survey outcomes and QAPI programs


Certifications :

  • Infection Prevention and Control Certification (Preffered)
  • CPR/BLS Certification (Required)
