Summary

The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting the Center Director in ensuring the health, safety, and quality of education for all children within the center's care. Under the direction of the Center Director, the Assistant Director collaborates with staff to ensure that curriculum and classroom activities are properly delivered, and that the needs of the students and the goals of the center are met appropriately.

ALSO The Assistant Director is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the School with the School Director. In the Director's absence, the Assistant Director has sole responsibility for the safe and effective operation of the School

  • The Assistant Director assists in the promotion of the social, physical, and intellectual growth of the children under his/her care; and assists with a variety of administrative tasks and opening/closing the School at least MORE THAN 50% of the time
  • Be accountable for the operation of the school, ensuring that the school is operating in accordance with company and state licensing standards
  • Be responsible for ensuring an educational, caring, and safe environment for the children and parents
  • Spark imagination, build self-esteem, and help children
  • Promote the positive image of the company and play a major role in making the company a provider of choice in educational programs for the communities that we service
  • Recruit, select, and retain quality staff
  • Help achieve profitability for the company

Duties

  • Assume duties of Center Director and Teachers as needed during their absence.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure adherence to quality standards in accordance with Center guidelines and state and local requirements; implement improvements where needed.
  • Maintain communication with families and community through appropriate outreach activities.
  • Follow all center policies and state regulations.
  • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • 1?3 years of direct professional experience in an early childhood setting.
  • High energy.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must clear full background check.
  • Must pass health screening.
